Do you love me?

People show their love in a variety of ways. If the manner in which you show love doesn’t translate to love in someone else’s world, you’re likely going to have a problem. Love is a serious matter. Hearts, minds, and souls get invested in it. So when things go awry or just don’t work out, devastation can occur. Sometimes there’s a good guy and a bad guy. Other times the situation is thrown a curveball that ends the game. What a person does after the time together is over is fair game.

I’ve been in love before. I’ve had my heart broken before. I’ve come to find out that I’ve broken hearts before. Love is a crazy game. All I know is that love should be expressed and if the person you’re giving it to doesn’t appreciate it, that doesn’t make your love worthless. You’ve simply invested yourself in someone that does not see your worth and doesn’t value your love.

Don’t put your love away. Love is beautiful. God is love. Love as God loves. The right love will come your way.

Morning Reflection

Every day I am reminded how far I am from perfect. I lie, cheat, steal, fall short of the glory of God in so many different respects, it isn’t even funny. Striving to become who God has clearly laid out for you to be in the Bible is hard only because of what we are unwilling to let go. We are unwilling to let go of our own desires, our own way, and most of all, we are unwilling to let go of ourselves. We want us. If we are going to be His, we cannot try to control this anymore. We have to submit to His will and allow Him to mold us and shape us into what He’d have us to be. I know that some of us want to be molded into a vase, but you just might be a cup or a bowl, praise God that you’re something.

God has a way of showing you exactly who you are and revealing who He is to you. Every good thing that may involve me is because of Him. I am not a good person. I am selfish, lustful, desiring of my own way to the destruction of everything around me. It really is a shame to see. He’s merciful, gracious and forgiving. Qualities that He expects us to demonstrate. If He forgives us for our faults, we too have to forgive others the same way.

I am not going to say that I am perfect, but I just read in Matthew that God desires us to be perfect like Him. If we die unto ourselves and allow Him to live through us, then it is possible. It is hard to watch yourself die. I find myself battling with my own desires more than ever. Hard to let go of things that you want. You have to though. God isn’t going to take everything from you and leave you with nothing. He loves you more than that. He will remove that which is blocking you from achieving what He’s called for you to do though. Rejoice in the storms and praise Him for His involvement in your life.

Walk in the love of God.

Occasionally you place everything you have on the table
This is all in the hopes of a glorious return on the risk taken
This is called gambling
Another popular strategy is to spread out the risk in hopes of finding something worth further investment
This approach may also lead to confusion, betrayal and disgust
Nothing quite like putting your all into someone
Watching them take it in
And reciprocate
The two of you build something
Enjoy it
And grow together
Sounds amazing right?
But this doesn’t always happen
Sometimes there’s no return
Just a loss
If you had happened to place your all on the table
Aka your heart
You’re liable to see it break badly
But you can’t win if you don’t play
Returns are proportional to the risks you take
So I’m putting a human heart with imperfect love
The desire to see you happy
My hopes and dreams
Amongst several other things
Down on you
I very well could lose it all
But I will endure the risk
For nothing could match the return on you
